🧰 Maintenance & Service visit 🧰Whilst on site during one of our monthly maintenance & service visits 🦺 we identified the following issues that we were able to highlight and resolve prior to the plant going into production.✅ Manual Valve leaking from packing area and outlet flange. The team isolated the steam to repair the outlet leak and then noticed the flange face to be steam cut. ✅ There were no spares on site so we sealed the valve outlet using a full-face gasket rather than a spiral wound gasket. The packing area couldn't be repaired due to corrosion and risk of snapping the studs. We quoted and ordered a new valve before leaving site.✅ Various Valves had been stroke checked and calibrated for issues. The main issue we identified was that a feedback arm was missing and the clutch in the positioner was also damaged.The parts were sourced and fitted on the second day. "Responsibility is proportionate to opportunity".Can you imagine how dark it was inside this column? Yes it's absolutely dark! but my mind became even brighter after experiencing this Distillation Column Inspection during EPC as a Permit Issuer. Studying through manual is now different when you got the chance to see what's inside; valve trays, downcomer, weir, etc. I never let this opportunity slip on my hands when my senior told me "this is an opportunity, take it".
