"TRAUMA UNVEILED: An In-Depth Review of Initial Treatment of Polytraumatized Patient"Our latest research delves deep into the critical initial treatment strategies for patients with multiple injuries, emphasizing the importance of the ATLS framework, integration of POCUS (Point-of-care ultrasound), and swift management of sepsis. This work is a testament to the collaborative effort of our dedicated team, aiming to enhance patient outcomes in emergency medical care. This publication reflects not only our commitment to advancing medical knowledge but also the collective wisdom and tireless dedication of healthcare professionals worldwide. I am incredibly proud to contribute to a field that impacts lives at their most vulnerable moments.I want to extend my deepest gratitude to my mentor, Marija Milenkovic MD, PhD, FCCS for making this possible and, further, to every individual who contributed to bringing this remarkable achievement to fruition. Without your unwavering commitment and assistance, this success would not have been possible.Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dK2JHVu6Citation: Milenković M, Grošelj BL, Hadzibegović A, Rović I, Šijan D (2024) TRAUMA UNVEILED: An In-Depth Review of Initial Treatment of Polytraumatized Patient. Dr. Davide Simonato, a leading Interventional Neuroradiologist, leverages Brainomix 360 Stroke to transform stroke care at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. “The risk in a spoke hospital of having large vessel occlusion (LVO) patients left behind is real, especially those with equivocating symptoms or fluctuating NIHSS. Brainomix alerts either the Radiologist or Stroke Team about potential LVO patients, to be discussed, that potentially otherwise might not be promptly recognized.”By enhancing communication, speeding up decisionmaking, and striving to ensure no LVO patient is left behind, Brainomix 360 Stroke helps establish a new standard in stroke management. Revolutionizing Heart Care: Novant Health's Game-Changer for AFib Patients Navigating through the maze of atrial fibrillation (AFib) options, Novant Health has hit a milestone. We've introduced a ground-breaking FDA-approved AFib treatment to our Heart & Vascular Institute - Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) by Medtronic. What makes PFA a game-changer? It zeroes in on erratic cardiac tissue with precision electrical pulses, paving the way for a corrected heartbeat. But that's not all. Our first successful PFA procedures took place simultaneously at New Hanover Medical Center and Forsyth Medical Center on April 3rd, a move that speaks volumes about our unified dedication to advancing patient care. AFib isn't just about irregular heartbeats - it's a risk multiplier for heart failure and stroke. Our commitment means tackling these risks head-on for the well-being of our community, especially with over 12 million Americans projected to be affected by 2030. As we make strides in heart health, Novant Health is proud to bring next-gen treatments right to the hearts of our patients. #HeartHealth #AFibTreatment #Innovation

The #ECMO story became a classic example of translational biomedical research. Rounding daily in the neonatal, pediatric, and adult #ICU maintains a broad perspective on medicine that translates to both patient care and research. If a laboratory experiment or a clinical case works, it can be repeated every time, and others can learn from it. Using artificial organs for life support in fatal heart and lung failure has grown from an idea to standard practice over six decades, as has the entire discipline of critical care medicine: It will be fascinating to see where these aspects of patient care will be 60 yr from now.

We are excited to unveil a second set of new data presented at this year’s American Heart Association Scientific Sessions, showing that Cadence’s remote patient monitoring solution yielded meaningful improvements in vitals and adherence to life-saving medications and guidelines amongst patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). In a study of 215 patients with HFpEF, results showed a 12x increase in patients on all four pillars of guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT), a treatment that saves and improves the quality of lives for patients with heart failure.Dr. Marat Fudim, an advanced heart failure specialist and cardiologist at the Duke University Medical Center and senior author on Cadence’s AHA abstract, shared: “This data demonstrates how RPM can help clinicians titrate and achieve high doses of life-saving GDMT in an effective and timely manner. Cadence’s team of multi-disciplinary heart failure clinicians are leveraging RPM and GDMT protocols to support HFpEF patients achieve better cardiovascular outcomes and quality of life.”Read the full results and abstract here: https://lnkd.in/e8Jcqs7k#aha23
