Job overview
We are looking for an experienced IB MYP Business Management and Economics teacher, who can bring these subjects to life in the classroom in an effort to support every student in reaching their potential. Key Tasks/Responsibilities:

Teach IB MYP Business Management and MYP Economics as per the timetable
Be creative with their approach to teaching and learning, to suit a varied student population
Collaborate on developing the written curriculum through unit planning
Use ManageBac as a Curriculum management tool
Create both summative and formative assessments that guide learning and progress
Provide timely feedback to students

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:
A Bachelor or Masters degree in Business Management, Economics or a related field
An official teaching qualification such as a Bachelor or Master’s level degree in Education, Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate in Education etc. to teach Business Management and/or Economics to all age groups and levels of Secondary Education. Please know that in order to work for us, you must be a fully qualified teacher in accordance with the standards required by the Dutch Education Authorities (DUO):
The teaching qualification must be officially recognized either in your home country or the country in which you obtained your qualification, as this is the starting point for DUO
For applicants from the UK with a PGCE, you must also have a QTS and successfully completed your NQT induction year
Qualified Teacher with at least three (3) years IB MYP teaching experience

Preferred:
Experience in teaching IB MYP Individuals and Societies is a distinct advantage
Experience teaching IBDP
Teaching experience in international schools
Applicants who have the right to work in The Netherlands, independent of employment status

We offer
As with all teacher appointments in The Netherlands, this is a temporary appointment for one year, with a view to a permanent contract if all the conditions are met. The position is based on the Dutch Collective Labor Agreement (CAO) for Secondary Education.

Teacher salary scale LB: €3301 - €5030 pm (gross) for 1.0FTE - steps in the scales depend on relevant background and experience.

Other benefits include the 8% holiday allowance, a year-end bonus of 8.33%, a contribution towards travel expenses and the ABP pension scheme.

In addition staff are given a number of options for tax benefits regarding trade union dues, the costs of sports (fitness) membership fees, the purchase of a bicycle (for commuting purposes) and a travel allowance (cafeteria scheme). Rijnlands staff also receive discounts on various insurance policies.

Taxes

Dutch Tax application Support (reimbursed by Rijnlands for 1st year expat staff). Rijnlands has an agreement with a tax consultancy that will help with the tax refund for all new staff hired from abroad.

Accommodation

No accomodation.

Flights/Transport

An OV Chip card with € 20,- credit to travel within the Netherlands by public transportation.

Moving Allowance

Compensation (tax free) for expenses incurred for the transportation of luggage and household effects of the employee and the members of his/her family to the new house with a maximum of € 2.500,- for Secondary education (based on receipts).

Dependent Opportunities

We can provide free education for up to two dependents for staff hired from abroad. Please note, staff must meet certain tax criteria and the arrangement is for a maximum period of 5 years as of 2019.

Medical

In The Netherlands, it is compulsory to buy basic medical insurance. This costs around €100 per month per adult – children are free. Additional insurance can be purchased according to individual needs and requirements, but whatever is purchased for adults, the same cover is provided for children free of charge.
