The proposed Gender Strategy 2024-30 puts forward the bold ambition to accelerate gender equality for a sustainable, resilient, and inclusive future in alignment with the World Bank Group Evolution Roadmap. The Strategy responds to the global urgency, fundamentality, and complexity of achieving gender equality.
The World Bank uses a “gender tag” to track Bank operations that use gender analysis to design actions to advance gender equality and include indicators to measure results. There has been a dramatic rise in the share of operations that are gender tagged, from 50% in 2017 to 92% in 2022.
In the area of pay, women earn just 77 cents for every $1 paid to men. The rights gap extends all the way to retirement. In 62 economies, the ages at which men and women can retire are not the same.

What Is Feminine Gender? The feminine gender is used to refer to the nouns and pronouns naming the female counterparts of human beings, animals and birds. The Oxford Learner's Dictionary defines the feminine gender as “belonging to a class of words that refer to female people or animals and often have a special form”.
Our investment in women is evidenced by strong representation at all levels of the organization — women make up 38% of our board of directors and our management team includes seven women leaders and today our global workforce is 50% women, which mirrors the communities where we live and work.
A Country Gender Profile (CGP) is the result of a comprehensive gender analysis of the situation of women and men in a country, which should be used to guide cooperation programming.
A gender audit usually includes two dimensions. An internal audit. This dimension refers to how much an organisation fosters gender equality internally within its organisational, managerial structure and internal work, and whether these contribute to gender equality in the organisation.
What country has the worst gender pay gap?
There isn't one single reason that the pink tax exists. It exists, in part, because some women's items are more expensive to make. For example, there might be additional costs related to importing items that get passed on to the consumer.

India takes the top spot. Its $39.7bn debt towards the WB recorded at the end of 2021 is double that of the next biggest debtor, Indonesia, with $19.6bn.

What are the four main genders?
- Masculine gender: It is used to denote a male subtype. ...
- Feminine gender: It is used to denote the female subtype. ...
- Neuter gender: It is used to denote nonliving and lifeless things. ...
- Common gender: It denotes either a male or female sex.
The idea that there are only two genders is sometimes called a "gender binary,” because binary means "having two parts" (male and female). Therefore, "non- binary" is one term people use to describe genders that don't fall into one of these two categories, male or female.
